Do you like nature and the magic of the seasons? Milk, cheese makers and refiners from the Jura Massif, and all those who love their noble land, welcome you and wish you a pleasant journey along the Routes of Comté!
The Routes of Comté are an original network founded on the close links between Comté and tourism in the Jura Mountains. As a priority, it combines farms, fruit trees and maturing caves which are open to visitors, but also open-air activities directly related to discovering regional landscapes and agricultural practices; as well as"gourmet stopovers" comprising good places for the purchase of regional products, and for winemakers and different forms of catering.
Comté cheese is produced in 180 cheeseries, which are called "fruitières" here, from milk collected daily in over 3,000 farms, and is a heritage shared by a whole mountain. The Routes of Comté also invite you to escape, and take other side tracks which will tell you other stories.
At each stop, while touring the sites, you can meet enthusiastic men and women who can show you their ancestral know-how combined with the most modern production tools. At every visit technology meets gastronomy.
