Fishing in the Franco-Swiss Doubs
The Franco-Swiss Doubs Valley
For around 27 kilometres, between Biaufond bridge and Clairbief, the River Doubs snakes its way along the floor of a wild valley which belongs both to France and to Switzerland. This beautifully preserved area, with its landscapes that change as the seasons come and go, is absolutely prime fishing territory.
Any self-respecting fisherman must absolutely stop off at the famous pré Bourassin, at Goumois, almost certainly one of the finest spots for fly fishing imaginable. The density of fish is excellent, and the average size, for trout, close to 40 centimetres.
The Franco-Swiss Doubs Valley, where the finest reputations of many of the world's greatest anglers have been carved out, offers a wide variety of sites.
