Located 6 kilometres north-west of Belfort, Lake Malsaucy is a lake with a surface area of 64 ha, making it the largest lake in the Territory of Belfort. It stretches over 3 separate communes: Evette-Salbert, La Chapelle-sous-Chaux and Sermamagny.
It is a great favourite with rock fans, because it is here that the famous Belfort Eurockéennes festival is held, and which attracts over 80,000 music lovers a year.
It is a great spot for observing wildlife and also serves as a leisure and water sports centre: sailing, mountain biking, etc.
The Départemental Environment Centre, which is set on the lakeside, will teach you everything you want to know about the local flora and fauna, and will also help you know more about how to protect the environment.
