STOPOVER - LANDING STAGE. The emperor Constantine, Henri IV and his minister Sully are among the historical figures to have passed through this village. Mantoche is situated at the junction of road and river systems and was the site of bustling commercial activity, as may be judged from the handsome merchants houses next to the church which was rebuilt in the 18C (Gaspard Greslys Madonna and Child) and the château.
