Métabief Mont d’Or Mountain Resort

ski-de-fondThis resort is located just a few kilometres from the Swiss border and from Pontarlier, the capital of Upper Doubs. In the winter, 200 km of cross-country skiing tracks, for both styles of skiing, and 50 km of marked out snowshoe paths.

The resort stretches out at the foot of the Mont d’Or, which rises to 1,463 m. From the top of the slopes, the skier has wonderful, indeed unique views over all the Alps.
Mother Nature would seem to have thought of everything, because it is close to here that you will find the majestic Lake Saint-Point. It is very often frozen over, enabling visitors to skate or enjoy an unusual walk.

chaux-neuveFrom Mouthe to Chapelle des Bois: A taste of the North

This area, located in Upper Doubs, between Switzerland and the Jura, belongs to the Upper Jura Regional Nature Park and is made up of 13 traditional villages at altitudes ranging from 920 to 1,420 m. The cross-country skiing and downhill skiing domains are located in the forests of the Mont Noir and Le Risoux.

From Le Val de Mouthe to Chapelle-des-Bois, the high quality of the 180 km of cross-country skiing tracks has put this region on the map. It is very famous for its winter weather and for the fact that the village of Mouthe marks the finishing line of the international cross-country skiing race, the Transjurassienne.

Between Mouthe and Chapelle des Bois, the Chaux-Neuve ski jump is the cherry on the cake of these ideal Nordic skiing facilities, for those looking for a new set of sensations.
