PROGRAMME :

DAY 1:
Discover the prestigious heritage of the capital of Franche-Comté and give in to the charm of one of Vauban’s most famous sites, the Citadel of Besancon considered one of the finest in France, this cultural and tourist Mecca is home to museums and a zoo.

DAY 2:
Discover two unique and inseparable industrial sites, the saltworks of Salins-les-Bains and Arc-et-Senans. The first stands as testimony to 1200 years of salt mining in Franche-Comté, whereas the second, designed by visionary architect Claude-Nicolas Ledoux in the late eighteenth century, has been a World Heritage Site since 1982 for the undisputed architectural value of Ledoux’s genius. The industrial dimension has been underscored now that the world Heritage classification has been extended to the saltworks of Salins-les-Bains.
