Mountains of the Jura

From the Mont des Verrières to Chapelle-des-Bois, this hike from hotel to hotel, along the GR5 national footpath, will take you on a voyage to discover the Franco-Swiss Jura: the village of Les Fourgs, nicknamed 'the Roof of the Doubs', the mountain resort of Métabief/Mont d'Or, the source of the River Doubs at Mouthe...
The scenery here is typically that of small mountains, with green nature all around, subtly different around each corner and with each season.

MEALS :

PROGRAMME :

1st day: Arrival at Les Verrières de Joux in " L'Auberge du Tillau" (altitude 1,200 m) in the afternoon (Hotel Logis with Spa and Sauna)

2nd day: Walk (2 circuits of 12 or 24 km) between France and Switzerland: magnificent views over the Chasseron, the Suchet, the Aiguilles de Baulmes, as far as Les Fourgs (the highest village in the Doubs).Guesthouse " Le Creux des Pierres".

3rd day: Departure to Jougne (16 km), one of the 6 villages which make up the resort of Métabief/Mont d'Or, via the meadows of the Mont de l'Herba.

4th day: Walk (15 km) to discover the resort: the cliffs of the Mont d'Or, the Morond (panorama over the whole of the Jura and the Alps...).

5th day: Walk (18 km) to Chaux-Neuve, near Mouthe (the peatland where the River Doubs takes its source, the famous ski jump...).

6th day: 15 km along the GR 5 national footpath with views over the Mont Blanc, to the region of La Gentiane, in the Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park.

7th day: A number of walks available (8 to 22 km) for a full or half-day, and transfer from Chapelle-des-Bois to Les Mont-des-Verrières, where you have left your vehicle.

THE PRICE INCLUDES :

Accommodation in 2* hotels based on double occupancy, full board excluding drinks (breakfast, picnic lunch, evening meal and welcome apéritif), tourist documentation and routes, baggage transfer, transfer from Chapelle-des-Bois to Mont des Verrières at end of hike, one surprise gift per room.
